One of the most sought after studios on Music Row, OmniSound.
Music Row, the other direction...
Nashville's own, Music Row.
The lounge at OmniSound Studios on Music Row in Nashville, TN.
Down that hallway is a list of all the hit albums that have been recorded here...
Having fun turning knobs...
Here's the ceiling, in case you were curious.
Planning the number charts...
A huge lava lamp made it feel so homey.
Now that's a soundproof door!
Buttons, knobs, wires, cables, slides, etc...
This was right before I swallowed the mic...
My producer, Tommy Cooper and the session leader, Gary Prim. Two brilliant men.
Mom and Ana (Aunt Sheila) learning the ropes.
Making the first pass on "The Old Account Was Settled Long Ago".
It was so tempting to just push buttons to see what happens.
"Heavenly Parade" is going to be interesting...
The alert bystanders...
Doing a rough vocal for "I'm Going Through"...
Well, after the first day in the studio with me, Tommy's a little disheveled. We'll be back tomorrow!
Some of my, soon to be, background vocalist...Mom, Ana, and Bud Rogers.
Waiting to head in for the second day of tracking.
Gary was my session leader and played the piano, keys, and organ. He'll blow your mind!
Kelly Back...wow. What else is there to say? No wonder Gaither has used him since 1996.
The Grammy award winning, Duncan Mullins! Well, he played on two Grammy nominated recordings, just this year, and one of them won...so indirectly, he's a Grammy winner.
Tommy's assistant engineer, Stoker.
Tommy Harden had been on the road with Reba McEntire in Texas and flew in to be my drummer. As a kid I always dreamed of a job where I could beat on things with sticks and get paid for it.
Tommy's drums...by the way, he likes Diet Coke.
He has quite a few to choose from...
Conference time...
Think, think, think...
One of the busiest men in the business, Gary Prim, working on the number charts.
Finishing this track up...
Let's tackle another one!
Duncan, and the in-house preacher, Bud.
Funny man, he even does voices...
I had my first bison burger here. It was SO good! I was so full I could hardly breath, much less sing, when I got through eating it.
The fish tank...
Bison burgers!!
Key change??
Miss Tracey getting ready to do her guest appearance on the CD.
You'd think after all that music theory I had in school, I would have a clue as to what is happening here.
L-R: Stoker, Tommy, me, Tracey, Bud, Kelly, Ana, another Tommy, Gary, and Duncan.
One more, just for Tracey. During the summer, she's my theory teacher, so I couldn't resist.
